so cali tsx beach party bash in early august
As you guys probably know, we had two successful tsx meets in so cal. The first one you could say was the one organized by the cl people down in huntington beach near boba house or something.
The second one was organized by kaikai114 and CobaltForge down in Irvine Spectrum.
So.. ... i've been talking to djdz, CobaltForge, and kaikai114 and we were thinking about the next tsx meet to be a beach bash at...
Place: Huntington State Beach (Tower 9)
Time: 12 - 4 pm
Date: 8/7 (Sunday)
Costs:
To help pay for the food we highly encourage a $5 paypal donation. We're hoping to have shishkabobs and other bbq stuff hopefully.
Directions:
Nav Users
Enter the location using the cross-street feature.
City: Huntington Beach
Cross: Magnolia & Pacific Coast
Map
Click here for google map link
405: Basically take the 405 s to magnolia, then all the way south to pch
22/57/5: Probably head down to 22 and then head south on magnolia unless you want to swing down to the 55.
So when heading south on Magnolia, cross pch and then parking will be $10.
Satellite view of where tower 9 is. So we'll have a sign that says "tsx" or something at a canopy around tower 9. And we'll ask the question "do you know opp?" and if you answer correctly we'll admit you
So what is there to do at the beach bash you ask? Well there's volleyball courts, basketball courts, and maybe we could get a game of ultimate frisbee going on or anything beach related. Also, it is a great place to check out the latest and greatest mods from our fellow tsxers and to network. So bring your tsx, camera, business cards, and sports gear on Sunday!
Reminder pms:
Reminder pms will be sent out later this week.

Huntington Pier / Main St is where its at! However, I highly doubt a meet would be realistic in Huntington City.
On the other hand, State Beach has more parking, less crowded, and I believe you could even drink beer? More ideal for a meeting location. Do cops frequent PCH / Beach? Some of us might want to ride shotgun in others' rides to hear/feel the mods.

Um.. btw the suggestion for the initial place is the state beach... unless I perhaps read your post incorrectly

But we're not throwing a bonfire so a location change is definetely possible. Tower 9 is on newland/pch. I don't think they get renumbered when you cross a state beach...?

The tower 9 on newland/PCH is for city beach, I believe. State beach's life guard towers DO get renumbered. I've had this misunderstanding with several bonfires in the past.
A good distinction between city and state beach:
1. State Beach - located South of Beach Blvd, across from the refinery smoke stacks.
2. City Beach - North of Beach Blvd, across from Hilton, Main St., etc.

on this website it says the state beach is located on magnolia and pch where newland is the next street down. Also the reason i think it's a state beach cuz parking is 10 bucks which is not quite typical of a city beach..

But still across from that ugly refinery... I once used that as my boarding landmark when I would drift away.

Dan,
Check out the other's suggestions on Bolsa Chica. I'm unsure of whether or not they have bonfire pits but it'd be worth a try. As far as Main St., that probably wouldn't be the best place to try to hold a meet on a Saturday or Sunday.
So we have 2 options:
Bolsa Chica - and then we can cruise towards, Sunset, Seal, and Long Beach.
OR
Huntington State Beach - we can cruise towards Newport, Laguna, etc.

You're going to have to make sure I'm really drunk to answer that question, even then I still might be smart enough to refrain. I'm actually going down there to visit some friends in San Diego so I figured I could do both in the same weekend.
I haven't been to southern california in about 2 years, I think its about time I go back for another visit

Bone stock and most likely in. It'd be a great opportunity to see what modifications interest me and my carbon gray 3-month old.
And it'd be a great excuse to finally go to the beach for the first time this year. Living 15 minutes from the coast in San Diego, one kind of takes it for granted.
