Smoked Tailights; need advice
Hey guys, I just joined a few days ago and its great to see all the people helping noobs like me about cars.
I went to a detailing shop and asked them about smoked tailights. The guy does not use film covers but actualy tailights that are smoked and he gave me the price of $350 for the part and to install.
I want to know if thats a good price or not?
thanks guys

That's kind of expensive for smoked taillights. But from what I understand, he will be getting new taillights and then spraying them, so I can see where he's getting that price. If I were you, I would advise you to just get the smoked taillight film from RockBlocker, who is a vendor on this site. It will be MUCH cheaper than that...and they look great. Just send a Private Message (PM) to RockBlocker and he will hook you up. Hope that helps.

I have the 20% smoked tail lights from Rockblocker. The brand he sales is LamineX. He's the link:

That's my car in the pics btw. My question to you is, are smoked tail lights legal in your state? And if not the smoked tint can be easily removed. These are very easy to apply.

Does anyone know if these Rockblocker kits are legal in CT? Or where I could find that info out? I googled around and found the window tinting laws, and the laws about headlight brightness, but couldn't find anything on tinted or colored heads & tails. Thanks for the help.

Besides, I like taillights that blare out a very deep red light. It's sure to get the attention of the person behind me

Dont smoke them !, kills your resale value , and IMO doesnt look all that good and for $350 they better come with a lil filipino house slave LOL
The smoked spray on tint wich im almost certain is what he will use costs $15 and if its not applied correctly makes it look like you dunked them in a septic tank.
