I'm interested in replacing my TSX's wipers with silicone wipers from Tripledge. In case you don't feel like reading up on them, they're 100% silicone, have a "triple edge" feature, and come with a lifetime warranty. Silicone has a lot of advantages over regular rubber. I used these to replace the wipers on my mom's MDX the last time she needed blade replacement. After two winters they're still going strong. A Chicago winter is enough to make any rubber wiper blade suffer a slow painful death.

I want to put these wipers on my TSX, the problem is, the driver's side blade is 26 inches, and tripledge doesn't make a 26 inch blade. The passenger side is 16 inches. Would I be able to use the 24 inch blade on the driver's side and up the passenger's side blade to a 18 inch? Or would I be okay with just using the 24 inch and leaving the passenger's side at 16 inches? I'm concerned about losing an inch on each side if I go with a 24 inch blade, that seems like it would create some bizarre patterns and possibly some visibility problems.

Anyone have experience with these wipers or a similar situation that they care to share? Thanks!

 

Search, there was just a thread about this from people looking to change out stock wipers to Valeo low profile wipers. Had the same size problem with sizing you're talking about, and there really isn't a good solution. Apparently our wipers are sized in metric and there isn't really a good replacement set.

 

If they make a 26" and 16", you should be fine. Anything smaller or larger will not work due to being either too short or too long.

 

I'd stay away from silicone wipers, and from triple-edge wipers. Both are bad for visibility (contrary to the marketing!).

Silicone will leave a film on your windshield, and I find them to chatter a LOT. Regular rubber wipers never had that problem for me before.

Triple-edge wipers can trap dirt particles between the different levels of teh blade, and can scratch the windshield slightly (enough that over time it becomes dangerous). This happened to my dads' truck and to my old Integra.

Stick w/ OEM wiper inserts or go with some low-profile ones (Valeo) if you want to spend a few dollars more.

edit: hmm, they don't have them in 26".

 

I have Reflex wipers on my Accord. They work very well. I always seem to get streaks on the passenger side from my old wipers. This is the 1st that worked without any problems. It's very light. It's shape cuts through the air pretty well. It doesn't flutter around in high speed driving on the highway. It's good for summer and winter. I've just had it for the winter though so I don't know how long it'll last. I recommend it.

what about when it's freezing temperature? do they perform as advertised?

 

My mother in law has 'em on her Mazda 3 and LOVES them. I drove the car a few times in sleet/freezing rain, and the Relfex blades performed well... better than the OEM blades on my TSX thats for sure.

Makes me hate Motomaster for not making a 26" model. Maybe the 2006 TSX blades will be similar to this (can anyone confirm if the '06 OEM blades are spring-like, similar to the Motomaster Reflex ones pictured above???)

i saw the specs for the wipers, and no 26"...

 

I haven't seen the Reflex blades upclose and out of the package, so I can't say how similar they are, but from the commercials and pictures they look similar to me. I checked my wipers after work and they are the springy wiper blade.

 

had the reflex on my old car and they worked very well. like someone said, the passenger side streaked a bit but add some windshield washer fluid and it cleaned up very well. i'd say its comparable to the stock ones on the tsx.

 

I ordered a set of Valeo Ultimates because the Can Tire Reflex blades don't come in a 26" length. They are 100x better than the stock blades. They're considerably more expensive than other blades, but the improvement for me justified the cost.

 

God I'm glad I live in Southern California. We don't even need wiper blades. Anyone want mine?

I like the tripledge blades. They have done well for me and have really done a great job cleaning my windshield without any noise. I would recommend them. The silicone doesn't wear out and has lasted me for a long time.

These blades are worth a try and if they work like they have for me, then I'm sure you will be content.
