Should I clean my rotors and calipers myself?

I just purchased rims (as you may already know from my previous thread) and I was curious as to whether I should bring my car in for $100 to get everything done or if I should attempt to do this myself.
I would like to remove the rust off rotors (mostly the top part of the ring) and calipers as they have a lot of rust on them.
Do I completely remove the rotors? Do I leave them there and cover up some things? What's the best option for a 2008 TSX? I have never done this before. Thanks!

the absolute best way to clean and paint calipers is to take off caliper and caliper bracket.

hang caliper using clothes hanger on suspension.
mask off anything that you dont want over spray on.
begin to spray paint.

the caliper bracket is off the car and should be spray painted.
Honestly, this is the easiest shit to do.
you didnt need to make a thread about it, because if you google "painting calipers" TONS of results will come up, even if its not for your specific car. it's the same process for ALL cars.

you can even find you tube videos on how to do it as well.

No point in paying to removing the rust ring around the rotors as those will come back if the brake pad isn't coming in contact with that area of the rotor.

If the calipers are badly rusted, you may want to have them inspected first to make sure they're okay operationally.

If it's just light surface rust, that can be taken off with a wire brush. No need to remove caliper unless you can't get to all areas with rust.

Keep in mind that if you live in snowy areas, rust will return.

EDIT... if you're just looking to clean and paint them, then you can buy G2 caliper paint. It's a brush-on paint, so you don't really need to cover up and mask areas since you're not spraying paint all over the place. Calipers can be left on car while you apply (brush on) paint.
