Should I buy?

Hello. I've been monitoring this site for months and it has helped me decide on purchasing a TSX. The dealer I have been working with has found one black 2004 6mt w/ navi available. They want $29,800 which includes a trunk tray, splash guards, and tax, tag, title. The price on the car before add ons is $27,800.00. I think this is a fair price, but the only cath for me is that the car has 150 miles on it. The dealer indicated that these were transport miles, but I'd suspect a test drive or two. Should I be concerned about the milage, and is this a reasonable deal? Would it be better to order one and wait till October to get it?

Thanks,
Chase

They are probably test drive miles but more importantly that is waaaay too much for the car....

I'm certain this has been covered in other threads, but since we are here, how far off are they from a good price?

More likely than not the TSX was a dealer trade. Dealers will often trade with other dealers within 250 miles of each other. There probably aren't too many test drive miles on it because many people stick to autos these days.

I took delievery with only 6 miles on the ODO. I watched my car come off the truck and into the shop.

he's not using it to compare...(which aparently upsets you), just as a means to set a price with the dealer.

Dont know what the market is like in GA, but here in SoCal I got my 6mt w/navi sans trunk tray for 27113.24 before tax, title lic...Pretty much got navi for free. I bought the trunk tray after for $75 online...So your looking at a $687 difference there. You should be able to work em down futher.

Check out bgilette's patented car buying techniques and you cant loose!

Hm, 150 miles? That's quite a bit.

However, it's your choice. The deal seems pretty fair, but I would ask for another car.

The price doesn't seem too attractive to me, especially when it has so many miles on it already.

Yeup, they are lying to you about the 150 miles being transportation miles.. All new cars I've seen are usually less than 10 miles. Don't buy from a dealer that lies to you on this kind of thing.

Test drives - usually people like myself that redline the car when they are not suppose to be. Usually in "test driven cars", dealers offer free extended warranty.

and check the posts for prices people are getting... mud guards or trunk tray shouldn't put up the price more than $300 at most...

Krytos - do you mean test drove it after you bought it to just check things?

I thought for regular test drives dealers just have two cars, 1 AT, 1 MT.

Archangelstudios, don't take the car. It's overpriced and test driven. Transportation miles my ass.

Thanks for all the feed back. I purchased the car on Saturday. They threw in fog lights over my concern about the mileage. The car runs great and I can't seem to stop driving it. Time to start thinking about mods. I think springs might be first. I noticed last night that the TSX dwarfs my Rx-7.

In southern california, I just got my tsx and I test drove one with 10 miles on it. But then I asked them if they had any more auto without navi carbon grays and fortunately they had one that just came in with .6 miles on it. They said they can't sell it without at least 5 miles on it. The 3-4 miles comes from test driving and testing every aspect of the car to make sure everything is working. I got it for 25,100 somthing and it came out to be 27,500 out the door. It should be a pretty great deal. If your looking into navigation, be looking for 2000 over the one without navi.

So basically what I've been hearing is that the going price for a TSX w/ Navi is going for just under $28000?? I'm looking to buy a new one, and if this is the case, then I'd rather get the 2004 model with Navi, than the 2005 for $2000-3000 more. I mean it would be cool to have all/some of the newer gimicks I've heard might possibly show up on the newer model(lighted steering wheel controls, heated mirrors, XM, power passenger seat), but since the complaints about rattles in the newer 2004's have all but stopped, I think I'd rather save money.

Anyone have any thoughts they'd like to share on 2004 v. 2005??

I was just at a dealership the other day talking about what the differences will be, and they said $1500 and that it may have a power passenger seat and memory seats. If you figure to get a $1000-1500 discount on 04 closeouts, you have to ask yourself if a power passenger seat and memory seats are worth $3000.

I paid $27400. I've got the Navi.

My TSX had 1 mile on it when I drove it off the lot.
