shifter installation question
i know that this post shold be in performance section but i will get more attention in general.
i want to ask people who already installed their shifters that how do you pull out this center console (the first one with cupholders)??? i tried to pull it and it didn't move at all!!!
All inputs are appreciate. I'm kinda in a rush cuz after tonight i will have to move to my campus and have no chance of getting any tools.
thanks

Re: shifter installation question
since the shift boot has some slack in it, i put my hand down where the boot is and grabbed onto the sides and pulled up.

1.) I remember the console top came loose at the leading edge first. I loosened the rear by prying with a couple of "L" shaped steel needle probes from Home Depot.
2.) The shift boot is attached to the console top. It just comes off along with it. It's also helpful to loosen the retaining nut on the shift lever before unscrewing the shift knob.

I got everything off now.. except i CAN'T loosen the nut that hold the gear assembly down (the white thing). Do you need to have a torqe wrench??? Cuz i used a monkey wrench and it didn't work out.
