Service messed up. what can i do?

Hey guys,

I had purchased a TL key from FLBusa and took it to a dealership in NJ to get cut and programmed. They gave me the speech that "if it doesn't work, we are not responsible".

I told them it would, gave them my keys and my alraedy cut keys (to replicate) and they proceeded.

I heard skirmishing in the back room, and they were going back and forth about something with the key. The guy came out with a manual key cutter and gave me a story that he could not cut the other side of the key. First, he had taken out the key from the remote to do this.

I'm thinking to myself that straight. He then proceeded to tell me that he couldn't even use my original key to make the copy, that he had to look up my VIN and use the "key code" to do the work.

My getting a little agitated, told him to just give me the key back and I would go elsewhere to finish the job.

I took the key to DCH Acura, and the parts guy told me he couldn't do it either. I convinced him to try and within 1 minute he came back out and said that he was able to cut the other side with no problem but the side that was already cut was cut completely wrong and if he were to cut it everything would just be bad.

I called the other acura dealer and asked what the hell they had done, and they told me, they aren't responsible.

Can i do anything about this? I'm pretty mad that they were so unprofessional about just CUTTING a key.

Now, I may be beat for $95. plus they charged me 11 for the waste of time.

Sorry, but I think you are fkd. Best you could do is ask them to replace your TL key for cutting it wrong, but you are doing a custom mod and they did say they wouldn't be responsible for it.

Tell them that it only didn't work because the person cut it wrong. The key is just a piece of metal.
