Cool Scratch on my Clock lens

Guys the wierdest thing happen. I was cleaning my dash and clock area. The rag was clean !... When I went over the clock lens area the lens got scratched. I can't feel the scratches but it is so noticable when lite. I went to the dealer and they told me you can't just replace the lens. It was the whole clock and it was $350.00 bucks. The dealer recomended going to a pet shop and getting a fish tank repair kit? I guess it would repair the scratches? Anyones else have any suggestions?

get some glass/plastic polish and lightly go at it, but be careful. Abrasive polishes are literally abrasive.- but get something thats very mild.

Perhaps someone in "Problems and Fixes" may know how to solve this?? Perhaps wet sanding and plastic polish??

Meguiar's...

I've had great success with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #17 Clear Plastic Cleaner and #10 Plastic Polish . You use #10 for general cleaning and, when needed, #17 to remove "fine hairline scratches" followed by #10 to clean it up.

I've actually removed a lot more than fine hairline scratches, but it isn't magic...so you might try it. If you do, be very careful to make sure the cloth you are using is clean or you'll do more damage.
