Question Satellite Radio

Is Satellite Radio worth it? Aside from fewer to no commercials, is it that much better than standard radio?

I'm going to get satellite radio in my next car because my new job is 50 miles away and I lose Howard Stern about 20 miles before I get to work. lol

I heard it's pretty good. There's a monthly subscription charge though. And direct line of site with the sky is a must. So if you live and work around highrise buildings, it may not work perfectly. This is just what I've heard and probably seen on a forum somewhere.

Something like 50 different stations? Ok, so soopa wants to listen to howard stern. Does Sirius or XM have their own stations with probably digital DJ's or do they have other content from other stations? I wonder if it's like satellite television where you can watch shows at east or west coast times.

I've had Sirius for almost a year and all I can say is that I could never go back to FM radio again. Sirius is $13 a month and the music channels are commercial-free.

Question: where is the Sirius installed? In place of the factory radio or under the dashboard someplace?

XM

In my other car (Honda Civic) I have XM and I swear by it. I love the quality, lack of commercials. I really miss having it in my TSX. I enjoy the 80's and 90's stations.
