Ron Tonkin Acura Portland - Aspec quote ??outrageous??

I recently went in to get a quote on the Aspec suspension and OEM body kit.
KIT - 1600
Aspec - 1100.

These seem outrageous to me considering some of the prices i hear on these boards. I have a feeling this is due to the lack of custom shops here in Oregon. I'm almost willing to make a stop up in seattle. Anyone know if the prices up there are the same?

No, thats normal.. Any dealers would charge that much for the kit and the aspec. I suggest you purchace online and install it yourself.. I bought mine for $870 and install it myself.

Try Acura of Portland if your looking for a discount. At least Acura of Portland listens you and offer some kind of discount. But Ron Tonkin Acura is a very bad place to get parts discounted. I don't even know why they are so rude either.

There group buy just ended but call tim im sure he could sell you one for that price of 585. Go to a local trusted shop find the install. i was quoted at the dealer for a $468 install.
While I went to a shop that tim told me about in buffalo and got the install for about 300 becasue they ahd some problems getting around the sway bar. (1hour install)

thanks everyone for the help! Those instructions don't look too bad to do myself. I'm assuming the 04 and 05 KIT fits the same. Now i just need some jack stands.

A decent, honest, shop should charge you about 3 hrs. time for the install plus a 4 wheel alignment.

I saw them go through the work and pretty much the shop would allow me to almsot watch, but I had work to do. They really had trouble getting through the seats and the sway bar.

The front strut wasn't too bad once they dropped the wheels. (lifted the car on the lift)

I read between 200-300 is not a bad install price.

I really recommand doing it yourself. You get to learn more about your car and get experiense at the same time. Its not that difficult to install.

Definitely shop around. Even if you bought the parts online (much cheaper) and had someone install them, you'd save a bundle. You shouldn't pay more than $1500 for both the kit and suspension.
