Rolling the fenders

OK I did a search and reviewed everything I could on rolling fenders. There are some good threads and reviews on it, but I haven't found anyone that has rolled the fenders on a TSX yet. People have talked about it, but I haven't heard of anyone actually doing it. If I do it I will buy the tool for it and not go the baseball bat route. With that being said, "Does anyone know of anyone that has rolled the fenders on a TSX?" If so, what special techniques were performed? I know there is a plastic lining attached to the inside of the fenders, how was this dealt with?

I don't want to raise my ride at all!

I'm pretty sure Marine_TSX rolled his fenders and did a how too. Or at least had them rolled. I'd sure for his posts.

a question here... what's rolling the fenders?

Is that to make more clearance for the inside of the wheel well??

You talking about the Haweka fender roller? If so, I don't know where you can buy one. I've heard that this piece of tool will run somewhere in the $300 range. IMO, not worth it just for couple of fender rolling. There might be shops in your area who can do this for much cheaper.

I found one for $200 brand new. Small price to have my ride corrected forever. Then I will put it on ebay and hope to get at least half of it back....But yes the general cost is around $300. To me it's still not that bad when each one of my tires the fender rubs and cuts costs about $200. You can rent the tool for about $50 online.

Then you could buy that $200 tool brand new... then rent it out for cheaper than $50 (say $40?)... recover the $200 after just five rentals

Maybe I can rent it from you then. Keep me posted.

Sounds good to me! I'll hook up the members......As long as they have a TSX! The TL owners will be charged twice as much.....cause they're ballers.

Thats a pretty funny comment made about us TLers j/k But anyways , by rolling the fenders how much extra wheel do you think my TL can get ? Will I be able to throw a wider wheel on ( that means more lip for me ? ) ! Or can I just throw a taller wheel on ?

Even better, tirerack lends them out for free with a $15 shipping charge. you do need a big deposit though, and there is a waiting list.

I went to discount tire center in socal and they just shaved off the lip. It's a clean and easy way to reduce the rubbing.

loxllxol---pics man---pics!

After further review....I looked at the fenders yesterday to see if rolling them is worth it. It looks as if the rears could be rolled and gain some space. The front on the other hand.....vwongs clip suggestion is the only answer for any space.

I did soften the suspension up about 5 clicks and it cut back on the rubbing big time. I figured it would work the other way around, but nope.

Not anymore. I called them last month asking about this exact thing. They claimed that they have a waiting list that is like 2-years long. They discontinued renting out this tool.

Oh xizor, if you're thinking about shaving your fender lips, DON'T. Since you compete in auto-x, this is not allowed. In STS class, you can roll the fenders, but shaving is a gray area thing.

Thanks, I had considered rolling them, but hesitate b/c of the likeliness of the Honda paint to crack.

Sorry no pics. There's nothing to really see. The lip just doesn't extend as far as it used to. It was cut just after the crease in the rear fender lining.
