Received a letter title reads

Dear Vehicle Owner
You are one of a selected group of vehicle owners who may be eligible to partipage in a vehicle evaluation. This evaluation is taking place in the los angeles/orange county are and is sponsored by automotive manufactureres who are very interested in your opinions about new and future vehicles that will be on display. Those who participate will receive $100 for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of their time. The project will take place in June 2005. This is a legitimate research project. We are very interested in your opinions. There will be no sales pitch and you rbname wont be given to any sales person or mail order firms. You can have an impatct on future vehicles.

AFTER THIS. AT THE BOTTOM it liste lots of car acura tsx. tl rl. to bmw 3. to lexus GX and volvo.. tons of models and said they send letter to those driving these vehicles..

at back of letter it just have u check which vehicle you drive. year mode.. body type.. and address and age gender if like to participate...

I'm in Atlanta, and i've actually received one too before.
It sounds legit to me. I mean... they are paying you.
As long as they dont give you checks for $150 and you have to give $50 back. lol

 

I had a friend who went to something like this in San Diego. It was for Audi. Sounds legit to me!

 

My wife and I have been on a couple of these but none car related. They paid as advertised plus free lunch or dinner so if you have nothing better to do or the subject interests you, the research panels I've seen are legit. None of the ones I'm talking about were like the real estate promotions where they might use high pressure to try to talk you into buying a condo or time share or such.

Also, once they get your name, they might call you for other panels related to other products if you tell them you're interested. My temporarily unemployed buddy did a couple of these a day for almost two weeks and was sorry to go back to "real" work.
