Replacing fuel filter?

Replacing fuel filter?
I'm in the process of doing my own 30k check up and according to this post it includes
- rotate tires
- full 'visual inspection' (PS, brakes, cv and axle boots/tie rods, suspension, cooling, exhaust, fuel system, hoses, tranny)
- replace spark plugs, replace wipers, replace fuel filter, replace air filter
- replace tranny fluid, replace brake fuild
- check alignment, drive belts, timing, idle, valve clearance, throttle opening, a/c, egr valve
- lube hinges
- road test
Specifically it says replace fuel filter, but Kurt_Bradley's post (here ) says the fuel filter is in the tank and cannot/nor does it need to be replaced. So is replacing the fuel filter just a typo?

According to the service manual for a 30K severe schedule, you only need to replace oil, oil filter, air filter and pollen filter - item A, B, C, & F. The rest are just inspection and lube. Fuel filter is not even on any of the service schedule. No need to replace spark plugs until 110k (iridium plugs). However, I would inspect them earlier.

i'll ask curry acura next time i am there.
that's stupid if the fuel filter doesn't need to be replaced - what's the point of having it there.
i pulled the fuel filter off my '00 civic si after 2 years and when i flipped it upside down, gas came out pitch black
