Cool removing buttons from navi

Anyone know or have an idea on how to remove the buttons around the navigation? A certain passenger of mine spilled soda, and it got behind the buttons. Some are very hard to press down and others are sticky. I tried spraying electrical safe contact cleaner, but that only works temporarily. Thanks

It's all one piece from the top of the air vents down past the nav to under the stereo. It's one huge unit. You need to take all that stuff out and then dismantle the entire HU to get to them. You got ur work cut out for you.

damn.

That's why i don't let anyone eat or drink in my car. The farthest i've gone with that is transporting food we've picked up to someones house...

best of luck to you... maybe spraying the contact cleaner will be your best bet for the near future...

Might wanna give this a shot...

If you do not want to remove the whole unit, you might think about aquiring some aerosol window cleaner. This stuff foams up really nice and is not a harsh cleaner. Spray it on the buttons and the foam will seep into the cracks. Push the buttons and hopefully you can "smoke out" the majority of the sticky junk. Sorry that happened, must have been one hell of a spill to end up on your NAVI buttons.

Thanks for your replies guys, and yes...it was quite a spill. Took most of a day to clean all the surfaces. Anyway, i've already tried spraying contact cleaner behind the buttons, and it only fixes the "stickyness" for a day or so, and it's back to being almost unfunctional. I'll probably just have to set aside another day and try taking it apart.

Thanks
