Rebadging the "Acura" and "TSX" back

I took it off for more of a cleaner finish when I first bought the car but I'm looking to put them back on.

Any suggestions on which double sided tape I should use? It looks like from the one that came from factory, it feels like a felt type of double sided tape.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Clean the areas with soap and then alcohol before sticking it down.

I got the double side 3M tape but this is going to be a bit tricky.

Did you guys use an exacto knife to tape it down first then use knifing out the empty spaces?

or

Did you cut a couple pieces for the A, then for the C, U and so forth?

I wouldn't use a knife against the trunk lid. See if you can place it down on a flat piece of wood/stone/metal that you don't mind cutting against.

I haven't re-badged my car but I remember the letters having their own adhesive behind them when I removed the badges.

lol....sorry for not being clear. I would never stick it on first and do that. Since the tape is double sided I meant stick it to the badge first then exactoing then cutting it out, then sticking on the car. The only problem with this is, is that the adhesive is the full size of the badge instead of within the lettering.

still figuring it out. I might just do it piece by piece.

I looked at my emblems a couple of days ago. If I remember correctly, the tape behind the letters were in segments (ie: the letter A might have had 3 small strips instead of an A-shaped piece of tape). I guess you'll just need to figure out how to handle the curves.
