Ok, so I want to replace the 6x9s in my '04 TSX, but I know you aren't supposed to get new speakers that draw too much power for the stock amp. Does anyone know what the power consumption is on the stock rear speakers and/or what type of 6x9s I could get without having to buy an external amp?

Replacement of the rear shelf drivers has been discussed before.

The 6x9s are for low frequencies only...so the Tang-Band speakers mentioned in the thread are compatible since they are subwoofers. I have no direct experience with these speakers but it looks like they should fit. Right now they're on sale - $49 each.

The stock amplifier is okay but not massively powerful. It cannot drive these speakers to high volumes with low distortion.
