Question for those who have modded their headlights

Quick question for those who have experience with the headlight housings.

I modded my 06 Headlights to remove the amber inserts on the sides. However, one of them did not seal back correctly and started to accumulate moisture. I tried to reseal it, but to no avail.

I have been searching around for a cheap replacement OEM housing for the 06, but can only seem to find 04-05 parts. I know the 04-05 did not have the chrome inserts behind the amber inserts, but was that the only difference from 04-05 to 06?

Therefore, assuming that was the only difference, would I be able to get an 04-05 unit, remove the amber reflector, take the chrome piece from my 06 housing, put it in the 04-05 one, seal it and be done?

I registered to the forum just for this, lol... O well... Simple trick I used to do with my RSX. Go buy some beef jerky or anything that has those little Silica packets in them that say "Do Not Eat"... Those are made to get rid of moisture... Drop one behind ur headlight and u'll be all set...

^^ Yeah, when I did the OEM to JDM headlight swap this weekend, I transferred over the Silica packs too. Make sure you do that. Also, just go back and reseal your headlight. No need to get new ones, if you don't seal the new ones right, they will leak anyway.

Also make sure that the black cover on the project and also the cover on the high beam are in all the way. The projector cover needs to be turned so that is lines up with the screw hole for the screw with the torx security bit.

There was another thread by Audioserf talking about a condensation problem too. Do a search and find out what he did to fix his problem. And oh yeah...holla

What should I use to reseal them? I tried looking around at pepboys before, but there were too many kinds and none said anything about using on headlights, etc.

Dumb question I'm sure, but I'd rather not get the wrong thing

Also, I'll check the seals, but I'm pretty sure its the outer area. I took the housing off before to drain/dry and reseal the affected areas, and found two areas where the water would drip from the inside to the out, so I think it is the outer sealant that has gaps somewhere
