question about NAVI DVD unit

question about NAVI DVD unit

can you tap into the back wires of the NAVI dvd/pc card unit thats in the trunk? specifically i need the battery wire, acc, and ground

oh and which color would be the battery and acc

Connector C on the DVD box has ACC and GND. It's an 8 pin Black/White connector. pin 2 should be yel/red (acc), 4 Blk (Gnd). I don't know if I would mess with that though!

ok thanks! i wasn't going to splice through it, i was going to use my wire taps. would you still recommend not to touch it?

I wouldn't mess with that either. If anything were to happen to your navi whether your fault or not, you know for a fact that the dealer is going to blame the wires that you spliced into for the problem.

What exactly are you trying to hook up? If the device draws a lot of power, it may mess up the navi, or could even blow the fuse that's at the beginning of the line.
