Question about getting warranty work from other authorized dealer
If I buy a TSX from a non-local dealer and in the future find that I need to get stuff fix, can I go to my local authorized dealer to get the work done at no charge or do I have to go back to the dealership where I bought the car?
Reason I am asking being, I am willing to travel to get a TSX if no local dealer will accept my price.
Thanks.

This goes for any manufacturer: Any warranty work can be done at any authorized dealer of the same make. In other words, if you have an Acura, any Acura dealer can work on it. If you have a Honda, you have to go to a Honda store (and a Honda store cannot provide Acuras warranty work). You are not restricted to have the car serviced at the store you purchase it from. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You can do all of your scheduled maintanaince and warranty claims (if any) through any Acura dealer you want to. Happy hunting.

Kurt,
does that include scheduled maintenance? for instance i live in a city with a Honda dealership, could i take the TSX there for oil changes, break work, etc.? the closest dealership is 1 hour away, not a bad trip for warranty work, but i don't get to that city once every 5,000 miles or so.
thanks,
Graham

I'm pretty sure you could do the scheduled maintenance yourself and the warranty is still valid. As long as you can show receipts for parts like oil filters, etc. So it shouldn't be a problem having it done at another "make" dealer. Call Acura to confirm.

Technically, a Honda daeler can do the scheduled maintainance on your car, but they cannot share the records with the Acura stores later in life. That information is private, so you would have no record of work with an Acura dealer. If you go to a Honda store to get the work done, it will have nothing to do with your warranty. You just can't get the warranty work performed at the Honda store. That has to be done by an Acura dealer (for multiple reasons).
