When I bought my car, I didn't activate it since I had an ipod. I am wondering if I can activate my radio if I never activated it before and get my 3 month trial now. Or is it tied somehow to the date when I bought it.

You may not have activated it, but the dealer may have while doing the Pre Delivery Prep. I would check with XM or your dealer to confirm.

on top of what was said, if you have XM pre installed by the factory like the TSX, it can always be turned back on at any time by calling XM with some of your info

the dealer activates xm radio upon pre delivery inspection ( pdi ) your 3 month trial starts on date of perchase and terminates 3 months from then

if you want to activate it now you must contact xm ( www.xm.com) and sign up for service
they will ask you for your radio ID to retrieve the ID turn on the radio switch it over to the xm input and go to channel 00 or 01 and your ID will appear on the radio screen.

my 3-month subscription ended on the 3rd anniversary of the date that I bought the car. So I guess as part of the purchase, the dealer contacts XM
