Perma Plate vs Clearbra

I believe they are similar. But I only read about Clearbra on this site. Opinions for/against either product?

The reason I'm asking: this was done to my car as part of an "included package", along with the all-season mats, wheel locks/nitro, spoiler.

What's "nitro"?

I've never heard of Perma Plate. The fragility of the TSX's paint is mentioned a lot here. The folks here who have ClearBra seem to like it. If I were do do it, I'd only do the hood. I don't like that you can see the edges sometimes, and that the leading edge of the hood, which is most easily damaged by flying objects, isn't protected. IMO, I think I'd rather just repaint in the future, but that's just me - I've never been a fan of covering things up.

It's an air substitute. Supposed to more reliable, consistent and longer lasting that regular ol' air. They inflate the tires with nitrogen rather than compressed air.

From their website:

* Problems associated with under-inflation are reduced. Under-inflated
tires run hotter and wear faster due to increased rolling resistance. A
tire that is 10 percent under-inflated will lose approximately seven
percent of its service life.
* Tires maintain their strength longer. Nitrogen-filled tires show twice
the life to failure in both field and laboratory tests due to absence
of interior oxidation caused by the oxygen in compressed air.
* Tires perform better. Nitrogen can help increase tire mileage by as
much as 25 percent. Tires that are properly inflated respond better to
steering input and handle better.
* Tire pressure is more consistent. Compressed air expands at varying
rates depending on the amount of water vapor it contains; nitrogen is
"dry" and expands at a consistent, predictable rate.

Ahh, didn't connect "nitro" with nitrogen. Somewhere in the board is a discussion about nitrogen vs regular air. Conclusion was that it's not really worth the additional expense and limitations (can only go to stations w/ nitrogen, etc), at least for normal folks like us.

You have to remember that "air" is about 78% nitrogen anyway. There really isn't any reason to fill with nitrogen as long as you make sure that your tires are properly inflated every couple of weeks, or when the temperature changes.

All perma plate is a rip off for a wax job that most dealers charge over $300 to do! Invest money a clear bar which is 100000000X better protection.

Thanks...that's what I plan to do. The perma was included and based on the numbers I don't believe they found a way to add it to cost of the car, but of course, it is possible.
