people are just plain rude

i mean really. how hard is it to leave a note saying you're sorry?? or something? so what if it's just cosmetic damage (not entirely, since part of the bumper popped out)? but really. that and my front license plate cover is cracked because i'm sure the idiot backed into it (parallel parking). and i left him/her a good 2 feet of room to get out.

<sigh>

We feel your pain.
It proves my theory that, often, people suck.

That sucks. 10-1 it was a woman driver. I'm dreading my first dents.

You mean the idiot damaged BOTH the front plate cover and the drivers side bumper? That's gotta mean he/she hit your car 2 times!

Ouchie. I hope the repair goes well.

I've had it happen before too where an old guy in a Park Avenue pulls up in a spot next to me, kicks his door open and slams it into my car....not even an "oops, sorry about that". >=(

Makes me wonder if the term "justifyable homicide" started this way.

All I'm saying is that women need more than a 2 ft. cushion to parallel park. 50-1 you're a woman.

I've been a victim of parking lot damage too. I've felt your pain!

In the past--less often than more--when I see someone incompetent driving on the highway, I call the police or the highway patrol, as long as I can get their plate number. In a few instances, if it's a commercial vehicle with company name and number painted on it, I'll jot that number and call the company.

And if I should see someone hit another person's car in a parking lot, I'll wait and observe, and get my paper and pencil out to take notes. It's funny how these idiots immediately deny anything and get very angry. I never confront them.

It fits a pattern: There are people who don't feel responsible for their own actions. To counter that, do the right thing. If you are a witness, don't disappear.

I went into NYC saturday to hang with a friend, i found a spot on the street at a meter, my lucky day, right?

WRONG!

some jackass in a big 12 passenger van backer right into my plate cover. i just bought it 2 days prior and now it is cracked. i was so mad, i was gonna let the air out of one of his tires, so he couldn't drive away. by the time i went back out, the mofo had already left.

NYC drivers are the worst, they rely on the view od car moving behind them to know when they are back far enough. luckily for me, he only damaged a $5 plate cover.

sorry to hear about you bumper damage. i got a small nick on my rear bumper on like the 3rd day i owned the car!!
