Ok, so I have here a compact flash PC Card adapter with a 1gb CF module. I copied a couple of MP3's to the root and put it in the navi pc card slot. Nothing happened on initial startup, so I went into the diag screen and to Version and did a load PC card and got back an ATA disk read error. Suspect it could be the formating. Still doubt this is going to work though, I mean, what would be the interface to actually play the mp3's?

If you guys can think of other things for me to try, im all ears...

Hmmm that sucks. I'm not sure what else you could do. I wish we could see what the nav looks for when it does load pc card. Maybe you could go look in that diagnostic screen that has all the errors logged and see if you can see what the error was when you hit load pc card? Just an idea.

Not only would it need a driver, it would also need a codec, a software package compiled for the dreamcast processor to actually play the files, and a module so that the interface could actually communicate with the nav screen and controls, and then it would still be mono sound, since that is the only audio connection between the nav system and the speakers.

I'm not sure why so many people think this should be a plug-n-play operation. Not only is it not easy, it's not even feasible.

Welcome back, Bysin!
