Ouch! Rear-Ended...the Pain!

Is it my imagination or is there now an epidemic among AZ members with collisions? A neighbor and I backed out at the same time without seeing each other, and, boom! There are now mar marks on my precious, new TSX paint job.

It's minor, but it still hurts. Looks like a few of our babies are being pummeled lately. I mean I was doing everythng humanly possible to avoid anything since is my first new car. Last time I got into an accident was 20 years ago. And now all of a sudden with my two month old baby....

Maybe this is a divine message warning me about TSX idolatry.

Oh man, gotta hate that I got rear ended a while back at an intersection. She just tapped me. When I got out to look, no dent or scratches. Just a bit of her red paint that wipped right off. I got lucky........

Yup, 2 weeks ago I had to deal with a hit and run. Smallish scratch with some red paint that wouldn't come off, and some of my paint gone...it was painful to look at. She just got fixed on Saturday and I'm glad to have her back.

Hope accidents don't have something to do with screen names...lovemytsx, luvmytsx, coincidence or

luvmy, how much did the repair work cost you?

Heh...well...my original idea was to just get that and one other scratch (not from me, but from before my ownership of the car) taken care of, but the shop wanted $477 for it. I already knew there was a crack on the bottom of the bumper (again, from before my ownership, probably from someone bottoming out the car), so I didn't want to pay nearly $500 to fix a cracked bumper, so I just went and got a new one. The whole thing ended up costing me $954 because they they also found 2 cracked shield pieces when they took the bumper off (and there went another $200 - the new bumper, painted, would have been $763). Ugh, the horrors... and so there goes about $1k from my house-buying fund that I've been trying so hard to save.

This happened even though I park in the middle of nowhere everywhere I go. Asshole drivers are just unavoidable.

heh, that's wierd. They both have the same screen name, both had accidents where red paint was left, both have the exact same color car, and posted exactly 1 hour apart from eachother! ... im an idiot

BTW sorry about all the accidents, I too have a hand sized dent/scratch on the rear door of my 06 where three panels all meet so the seemingly little damage estimated to $1,035! Luckily I know who did it so they're payin.

Wow, $1000?? More body shop robbery.

BTW, so glad your name isn't lovematsx, luvma..., etc. Otherwise, I would suggest us all AZ members for our safety's sake to find some name along the lines of HateMyTSX.

I'm not sure, maybe I can get one by this weekend. It's embarrassingly small but painfully huge.

It took a while but here it is:

But it's fixed now. For only $150! Finally found a place that would do it without taking off and doing the whole bumper ($300 at least). Looks new again!

I noticed the other day that I also have what looks like a major door ding on my rear right vender right about the wheel Again in red. What's up with red car drivers?? I'll try to buff it out and see what happens....... Warning for other LuvMyTSX.......watch out for door dings....

Believe me, I was tempted. If I didn't find a body pro who would do it for $150 or less, I was going to do the self touch up thing. But I wanted to avoid it, knowing that it would be a low-ball amateur job and that it would always eat at the back of my mind psychologically.

its hard to use the touch up paint to fill in the scratches unless its deep
or else it leaves a little bump, try to sand it down and the color disappears
