Oil on intake filter?
Dropped my car off at the stealership this morning to have my standard oil change and inspection. Just got a call from the rep this afternoon and said there's oil on my intake filter. It'll cost 115 for them to inspect it and diagnose it further. He said it could lead to something really bad. I'm not sure if he's ripping me or if this is a serious concern. This can't be normal right?
btw- my car is an 05 bone stock tsx with 68k miles.

I would ask them the following questions:
1. On what side of the intake filter is the oil?
2. How much oil is there on the filter? Just a little blotch? Or is it dripping wet?
I'm no mechanic but it doesn't make sense to me that oil can get on the intake filter, unless the oil just explodes out of the engine, through the throttle body, and up the intake pipe.
Conversely, where would the oil be getting sucked in from if it's in the other direction?
Good luck.

Since the PCV valve is located directly above the alternator, it's easy.
Disconnect PCV hose (snakes out from under top cover directly above alternator and does a 90 degree into the PCV valve).
Remove PCV valve (is screwed into the engine block)
Install in reverse order with a new washer (and a new hole clamp, it goes without saying)
Part # 17130-RBB-A01 for PCV valve...don't know about the washer...the valve is a $15-25 piece.
