Oh Crap: chipped the Leather on my steering wheel

Should be filing my nails better, I guess...

http://68.83.141.170/pictures/tsx/st...wheel_chip.JPG

Any ideas how to fix a leather chip like this on the steering wheel? The leather wrap has been chipped off, exposing a very off-color inside that is, frankly, very distracting -- especially with direct sunlight!

Any ideas? I can only imagine that a new steering wheel would be incredibly expensive.

I have faith that TSX'ers will have ideas and solutions that I would never consider.

Black marker. No joke. If there's a piece that's flapping, crazy clue.

Yea, if you use a black touchup marker or something, you probably wouldn't even be able to notice there's a chip.

My leather sofa needed a repair on a deep cut which was covered under warranty. They sent a leather repair man to work on it. He has a blue/green liquid that he used to fill in the cut and then repainted it to match. I failed to ask him what it was but you would never know the cut was there now.

So there is a way to fix that. Perhaps others will know what to recommend.

Take it to the dealer and complain. They might do a one time warranty repair for free, like they did my brakes.

Just remember it's not their fault. Use your words wisely.

Red face

The dealer can fix it....when I got my tsx, I had a few slices in the leather on the back of the steering wheel. I'm pretty sure it was there when I got the car, so I went back and complained, they fixed it no charge. You can never tell it was sliced.
