Hey all,

I've got an '04 TSX non-navi. I've always wanted the navi, but couldn't pass up the deal I got on this car.

Just the other day the displays died on my radio and heater controls. I contacted my local dealer, and they said they've heard of the problem before and may have to replace the unit(s). (all still under warranty)

My question is this...

Has anyone heard of dealer upgrades from non-navi to navi? I know it's a hell of a process to install from front to rear, but to some extent imagine theres some existing wiring in there for navi controls. If so, how much have people paid for this...the full $2k or more because there are additional parts/labor?

I figure if I'm getting a $5-700 warranty credit for the useless radio/heater controls, I might as well take this opportunity to try and pursuade the dealer to let me pay the additional cost to upgrade.

Thoughts? Experiences? Advice?

There's more than the units - wiring harness as well.
You can but ask - the worst is they'll be refused by Acura as they only do like for like warranty repairs.
So, ask and see what they say - if unhappy and you really want the Sat Nav, contact Acura CS and speak to them directly. They'll have the authorisation to approve the upgrade.

It's gonna cost way too much from the dealer. I say $3000-3500. You might as well get the Pioneer avic-z1

keep your car as is, wait till 2008 and go with the new TSX then get the NAVI. That's my plan.

I have contacted my dealer before about non-navi to navi upgrade. They told me they don't do OEM upgrades only way is to sell them your old car and buy their new car with Navi at least that's what the guy i talked to told me.
