Noisier tires with age?

After my car reached 20,000 miles, I noticed the tires have been a lot noisier on turns. The noise is prominent when taking on-ramps at 40mph (posted 25) and making u-turns. Sometimes, a simple right turn at 15mph will sound like a donut (which I have never done).

Any one else notice this? The tread on the tires are still excellent, and I just had them rotated for the second time.

I've noticed the same and I only have 11,000 miles on mine - rotated at 10,000. It's not unbearable yet but they do squeal a little more than I'd expect with this mileage. Gonna replace them with better rubber anyway when their time is up.

I've got about 17k miles on mine and they seem okay. I think it has to do with how hard you drove the car before. I've driven the car pretty hard starting right after break-in and I'm used to hearing the tires squeal for mercy.

Every time you drive, your tires heat up, then when you park they cool down. This repeated process of "baking" your tire makes the rubber harder and thus louder

Good explanation. I drive up to 90 in the morning commute (25 mins), and the weather was 90+F up to last week, so the tires were "cooking" all day in the parking lot.

Based on the tread, I think they'll last another 10K...
