No local dealership—advice?

Hi all,
I'm a noob to the site but have been following the TSX news for a couple of months now. I have a request for advice.

I'd like to pick up a TSX, but I'll be transferring in a few months to a new location that has no Acura dealership (closest dealer is 400+ miles away). I know it's a Honda product and should be pretty reliable (I also have an Odyssey), but I'm concerned about the possible need for warranty service. Acura says the local Honda dealership can order parts and should be able to do the work, but I would have to pay up front and send a claim to Acura to get reimbursed.

Has anyone else pulled the trigger on a TSX with no local dealership? Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks!
L

If Honda will fix your car and order parts if anything goes wrong i say do it.Dont let a dealership not being near you, stop you from buying a great car.

I did, closest Acura is 2 1/2 hrs away. They told me that if my TSX breaks down they will either authorize local place to fix it (I suspect they mean local Honda dealer), or they will flat bedded it back to their shop. In either case I will get a loaner, and if they authorize the repair, I expect bill to be submitted directly to Acura, without my involvement.

Ask for this in writing. There MUST be some policy somewhere that states this. If they can't provide this for you, call American Honda. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I'm in Virginia now, moving to South Dakota in the fall. However, I'll spend a couple of months TDY in Abilene this winter. I've noticed Dallas/San Antonio/Austin have a much better selection than the Hampton Roads area. I bought my last 2 cars in San Antonio.
