NHTSA Rollover Data: TSX receives 4 stars, 11.8 percent chance of rollover

Here is the article regarding the rollover rate of a number of vehicles, of course SUVs are more likely to tip over than sedans. Mazda Rx-8 is the least likely to tip over, but that car's CG is nearly in the pavement. Also, the TL is the second best rated vehicle in rollover accidents.

And here is the link to the actual data.

I just hope insurance companies take note of this stuff and lower my premiums

I'm not sure but I think this might be a repost.

In any case, the TSX didnt do exceptionally well, so I dont see it lowering yoru premiums. It was in the lower half of the pack and was only better than Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Prius, Chevrolet Aveo, Ford Focus Wagon, Toyota Echo, Subaru Outback wagon.

It would be nice to benchmark against 03's as well.

Good result but I wonder if it could have been improved if the TSX was a little lower.

To be more precise in the quoting...The TL is not officially the second best rated vehicle in rollover accidents...its the second best in the group of 04 vehicles that were tested by nhtsa. There are many more 04 cars that have not yet been rated by nhtsa. Regardless, the rating is very good news for the bigwigs at Acura.

I did a search of it before I posted, I found something regarding rollovers of SUVS, so it may be the same findings. If so, sorry for the repost!

You are right though, I should have RTFA before I made my conclusion, not to mention that there is still a large number of cars that haven't been tested.

I just thought of something else, wouldnt tires have a significant impact on rollover rating? Wouldnt crappy tires help your rating? hmm....

i think so, i found TSx very tall... when i turn VSA off in a turn, i feel the car does not "hug" the ground as my old accord did; but TSX is very tall....
