New, unannounced accessories for TSX!
While at my Acura dealer today, I saw some installation instructions for *new accessories*. The documents were dated 7/2003, so the accessories should be available pretty soon now.
There will be a hands-free cell phone kit (for the armrest) and an XM radio kit (the display fits where the top bin currently is, just like the cassette/MP3 player).
I don't know more than what I'm posting, but feel free to discuss.
I might be able to get copies of the instructions since I know the guys there pretty well.

Didn't someone say you can get a whole Bluetooth set-up for about $200?? So I think a "regular" kit would have to be less. Anyway, about $100 to $150 is what I would've guessed.

Um... might be stating the obvious, but check out any option currently available for the 2003 Accord. Guess what... they'll be available for out car and same with most of the options overseas. This shouldn't be a surprise, but a hella good find for dates.

i'd buy the XM one, as long as it hooks into the aux port. i think the xm option for the accord is fm-modulated.... and its like 500bux.
as far as the antennae piece, i think most people here have been mounting it on the shelf of the back window. looks pretty nice there

The hands-free phone kit works through the stereo. The mic. is set on the steering column. The price with install here is $595. You do have to have a phone that is compatible. See your dealer for the list.

Despite the high cost, I might do it (as soon as I'm sure I'm not switching to a different car -- I hear some cool new model is about to come out or something like that ), but.....
I found where they were talking about adding Bluetooth to the TSX. Supposedly the kit is about $200, so I guess even including installation, it would be less than $595.

So -- Anybody know how the Acura kit would be better than adding Bluetooth to the TSX, given that it seems the Bluetooth would cost less? What am I missing?

Extensive instructions for the phone kit! Too bad I already bought a SE HBH-60 (Bluetooth wireless headset). The TSX thing doesn't integrate with the navi screen or anything, does it? If it does, that's worth something right there.
Edit: Oh my eyes! That price is ungodly. My HBH-60 was $116, and I can use it outside of the car. I do, however, have to keep it charged and put it on my ear when I want to use it.

According to that, the kit itself costs $120, and the installation isn't that hard, takes anywhere from 15 minutes (if you know what you're doing) to an hour and a half (if you don't). Yet, the above-quoted price of $595 would seem to include $475 for labor.
What's the story?

I want to see someone do that install in 15 minutes
install instructions link from the other thread
take a close look at those instructions
anyone have a list of phones it will work with?

I'm not going to install this kit, but it gives me plenty of ideas.
It also brings up two questions; what does that pin that the black/white wire plugs into do (the servce manual lists it as not used), and can I buy that 20 pin cable (Telephone Harness) seperately?

Assuming that $120 is the correct price for the kit: Does $475 for labor sound right to you?
