new TL vs. TSX

new TL vs. TSX
got it as a loaner, getting the headlight condensation problem fixed on the TSX...some quick comments.
have been eyeing TL prices for awhile considering then rethinking, so when i had the chance i asked for a TL loaner to really see what the car is like...
1. first off the power is not all that, quicker, but not a huge difference
2. exterior looks i do prefer TL over TSX
3. interior is too flashy, sharp lines, edges, in your face type stuff, cant stand the instrument cluster, too ricey, whereas the TSX interior is subtle, subdued, sophisticated, overall both interiors are very quiet
4. the two compartments under the stereo are too small to be useful, unlike the TSX with its one big compartment, TL has no sunglasses compartment
5. its a bigger, heavier car, and i dont know what the slalom and skidpad numbers are for the TL, but the TSX is much more fun to drive
i think ill hang on to my TSX...

powerwise, it is obviously different
TSX clearly has the 4 cylinder character, feels light, accelerating has more sensitive response
TL clearly has the 6 cylinder character, feels heavy, heavy but torqy response ( when i was testdriving both cars, TL just felt like an E class (E350).
I like TSX Exterior SO MUCH better than TL. TSX rear style (with M3 spoiler and A-spec under lip), is the best looking ever...
i agree with your no.3 comment, and i was testdriving an 06 TL, i was so disappointed with the navi system, and also the navi voice from a front speaker. (feels so cheap)

Test drove the TL-S and the TL.. was amazed by the TL-S and was ok with the TL.. I purchased the TSX over the TL back in 2004 because of the size, look (grandpas car) and price vs features... now recently I test drove the TL-S and wow was I amazed... here are some points for the Type S.. leather is soft as hell, fast car, nice rear parking camera, nice brembo brakes.. unfortunately the rims are only 17" and come with the stock michelin tires (same as the tsx) for a sports sedan with over 280hp which equals massive torq steer.. but if I paid that much for a car id go for something.. but nothing less of a nice sports sedan..!

I agree that I don't care for the "character line", or whatever it's called, that goes down the side of the TL in line with the door handles. The TSX's styling is more subdued and timeless -- it will age much better.
I drove the 6mt TL (2006) and it had good power but didn't blow me away. Didn't like the torque steer, agree the interior is more stylized and not as classic as the TSX, leather is softer, ELS audio system is fan-friggin-tastic. Overall, I was really happy to be back in my TSX. Wish I had that DVD-A head unit, though.
