Congrats. I did the same thing -- this site (actually its forerunner) was my source for finding out about the car and helping me know it was probably just what I was looking for.

It was! Hopefully for you too.

I am a new owner as well. Love the car. I am coming from a 2000 VW VR6. Thank god it is gone, too many problems to count. My parents own an 03 Mercedes CLK320 and are amazed at the features of my $28k car. I wouldn't mind the engine out of the 320, however.

Peace!!

Welcome Gboyz.
Psyched to have another Floridian.

I've learned so much from the other members. You'll love the site almost as much as the car.

Congrats and welcome to you too. I came from a BMW 525i, which was a painful experience to "downsize" to the TSX, but after driving it home from the dealer, I don't miss my beamer (or its expensive upkeep) a single minute.

On "the other site," I started a thread where I said that according to my criteria and priorities, TSX is the best car at almost any price, including the BMW 5's (as well as anything else you might name). Of course everybody said I was nuts, and they were probably right. But I meant it.

You WERE nuts. All your criteria pointed inevitably to the TSX!

Right! But the horse really did come before the cart (whatever that means).

I started out with the criteria -- they were always my criteria -- and that's why I HAD to get the TSX when it came out.

BMW 5 = great
TSX = better (if you're nuts, of course)

Yes, and the horse was genetically engineered to fit your cart.

1. Must be "sporty". Very subjective.
2. Must be FWD/AWD. Kills 90% of "sporty" cars.
3. Must be "reliable". Kills Audi AWDs. We're down to Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus.
4. I forgot the fourth, but it doesn't even matter.

Since Toyota/Lexus makes no car to even fit in the sporty/FWD category, we're left with the TSX. Of course it wins! You could probably up the price beyond 80k and still get TSX as your answer. :P

Very sorry to bring this back up. We all know I think the TSX is an excellent car especially at its price. I just think your question was loaded. I didn't say it at the time b/c i was a n00b...

Thanks for even paying attention to it, Clutch!

I guess no one's ever gonna believe me that the question wasn't "loaded."
I can see why you think I designed the "criteria" so that TSX would "win."

Honest to gawd, it was the other way around. That's right, my criteria do rule out just about every car on the road, which meant that for a while there wasn't anything for me. (So I settled for the TL-S.)

Which was why I just couldn't f*****g believe it when a car like TSX actually came out.

And why we actually have people like Siliobear coming from other higher-end cars to TSX.

P.S. (Edit) Sorry, Silio!! In my original post, I wasn't noticing the very obvious fact that you're a lovely LADY!!!
(I said "dudes" instead of "people.") I should look at avatars more!

To tell you the truth, I couldn't believe it either! I've been waiting for someone to make a car like the TSX for a long time. The fact that Honda was the one to finally do it was a bonus. I think the reason you can come down from a higher-end car to this is because the TSX is really "all you need" in many respects and nothing more. And that's part of what makes the price so attractive.

That being said, there's still MANY other cars costing less than 80k that I'd rather have......M5
