Need quick recommend on radar detector!

8500 or the solo s2? In terms of performance...i'm wondering cause if solo s2 is just as effective if not better, i'd go with it over the cord.

S2 is worthless, at least according to what you can read online.

I recommend the BEL RX65 (I have this) or the 8500 (X2 is latest I believe?)

Valentine 1 is the only way to go. Every single person that I know who has owned one swears by it.

I have an 8500 with the blue display. I hardwired it and placed it above the mirror. It complemented the TSX interior nicely (matching the blue mood light), and it works very well. Good detection range. One feature I like is that is has a 'voltmeter' display mode, so you can always see the current voltage of your electrical system.

My unit detected radar from behind on my way to work this morning. I simply ignored it and drove faster.

Solo S2 has warned me so many times. I would have bought the 8500 but the wire clutter was a problem for me. But people here have hard wired it. ur choice

I picked up a 8500 today..I'm lookng to see if i should hardwire it...I could'nt find any police today to test it out...lol

About the valentine, those are concealed? I feel very awkward with a detector saying "hey look at me, you can't catch me" on my windsheild

I've heard the Valentine 1 is great, but I have the 8500 and I've been very happy with it. I haven't hard wired it yet, but I plan to this spring.

Depends on how much you decide to spend too. Valentine one is quite a bit more expensive than the escort.

V1 all the way. My cousin returned his 8500 and got the V1 instead. He liked the V1 much better.

I have S2 and perfectly fine with it. It works fine.
Although I would go with V1 next time.

They sort of can be concealed if you get the separate display...but the main unit still had to be in the window. Just place it somewhere behind the mirror. And with the separate displace the one in the window remains blacked out.

Im going to get a V1 soon with the separate display and put it in the "not an ashtray"
