Navigation Disc Version

I know there has been a lot of talk about this in the past but I still can't find out any info on newer disks. I checked my version and I have version 1.00 (I don't remember how many zeros there were). And my database version was 20020930 or something like that. I have read that other people have 1.09 and 1.003. What's the difference? How do I get the new disk if there is a difference? I called (888) 549-3798 and the recording said if you have a 2004 model the newest disc came with your car. Do any of you have info about this?

Well, I have been trying to get 1.09 (supposedly contained on the latest DVD) - but only *one* member reported this, and even though he posted screenshots, I'm starting to wonder if this disc is from a TSX, and not from a TL.

I went to my dealer, who let me take a DVD from a TSX built the same time as the other members' car, and it had the same DB version and SW version as mine.

So, although I want this 1.09 update and newer DB, I'm not sure what the deal is. Speaking to Acura client services AND the actual Alpine DVD fulfillment center said the 1.09/newer DB DVD doesn't exist, and after going to my dealer, I'm starting to suspect some photoshopping/something else going on.

Also - I contacted the guy who posted the 1.09 pics and he said he wouldn't remove the DVD and take pics of it because "he had settings he would lose". Hmmm...

Well, I got a bit more information from Acura, but not much. Calling the DVD order line, and actually talking to a person, I found out that that they have a "chart" of what's available for each car, based on certain situations. The disc I have (labeled v2.20a on the actual DVD) is what's commercially available. They indicated that there was a v2.30 disc on the chart, but it was only available to the production division. This seemed to state that it will only be provided with new cars.

My other attempts have produced estimates that the v2.30 disc will be available for sale in late Jan04, and will cost around $200.

To all, I bought a 2004 TSX in November and it had software version 1.003 and database version 20020930. I too saw a former post about a TSX owner who had versions 1.009 and 20030930. I was a little bit upset as you can imagine, I just plunked down 30k on this baby and wanted the latest and greatest. By the way, worth every penny. That being said, I called my dealer and caused quite a stink, I told him about this post and informed him that I **would** be a satisfied customer whether or not it was him, his manager or Acura that made it so. A week later they called me with the new DVD disk. After inserting the new DVD, my nav system said, "Please don't turn off ignition, software update in progress." My Nav then came up normally, and too my great excitement, my software version became 1.009, and the db version became 20030930. Needless to say I am very pleased. It should be noted that this made significant changes to the following. The audio system is completely updated. The graphics are new and it is more informative, it now tells me when radio stations are in stereo and their signal strength. The nav graphics are all updated, and places of business and streets that weren't on there before are now on there. The climate control graphics are updated as well. I am flat out tickled!!

Something I forgot, the version that is actually *on* the dvd disc is a little bit screwy. My old DVD had version 3.20a printed on it. The new disc that I received from the dealer had the version 3.30f on it. FYI.

Sorry, after rereading the above post I went and checked my Disc. It is *actually* 2.30f, and the old one was 2.20a. Sorry!
