My TSX feels like a cracker box

Anyone elses TSX feel as if it's built like a cracker box?

Starting today it feels as if more rattles have appeared. They are now coming from every corner of the car.

Additionally, I have some cracking-type noise coming from the center console area from the area where the compartments are all the way down to the armrest compartment. Anyone else have this? I can't really pinpoint it, but I think it's right around the shifter.

I also notice a type of crack or screech when turning or accelerating from a complete stop sometimes. This kind of sounds like it may be the seat.

i've got the cracking/clicking sound you're talking about...been there from day 1. sometimes it seems like it's coming from behind the navi and other times from the storage compartments/cup holder. also seems to come from a bit off center...more on the passenger side...or only when the right side of the road is rough.

if it's coming from behind the navi, that'll be a tough one to deal with. definitely starting to bug me...but really that's the only major one. i'll bring it in soon.

let me know what happens with yours.

Junc, wahoo... I'm glad someone else is experiencing the same problem! In your car, does it also seem like its coming from the shifter area sometimes?

yeah...either the shifter or by the cupholder compartment...tough to pinpoint. a lot more prevalent today than usual.

Do you think this is something that an Acura dealer can fix?

There are just as many if not more complaints about your beloved Accord coupe.

But seriously, no car is perfect (some are closer than others)

Could you be more predictable? Sure, we all know you're hard for the accord and love trolling, but at least come up with something better than that.

Welcome to the club! Just do what I do in my VW -- roll the windows down or open the sunroof so you can't hear them.

Seriously, though, if you can pinpoint the rattle location, it can usually be fixed. Creaks, on the other hand, are notoriously difficult to solve permanently. Sometimes silicone lubricants can be used to stop them, but they usually come back.

I think I know what you're talking about. I've had a crackling/creaking/rattling sound coming from that vicinity driving me nuts. I had a friend ride with me today and it turns out that it's the tweeter cover on the front right area of the dash. As soon as he touched it with a finger it stopped. He let go, it started again. I'm going to play with it this weekend to see if I can fix it.

Yikes.
I feel blessed to have a rattle free TSX. I only get the bass buzz and for a while I thought I probably had these rattles but never heard them because of my audio always being loud enough to mask them.
Recently I've been putting the windows up and killing the stereo and...

I feel lucky to have a quiet one:P

Early build, I guess.

I had the same problem a few months back. Mine turned out to be the dash panel rubbing against the windshield. The dealer "loosened the dash" and put some insulation in there to dampen the noise. They said it's a common problem and easy to fix. No problems since.

how come every dealer I call in SoCal acts like they've never heard the words "TSX" and "rattle" in the same sentence?

In regards to the rattles on the doors - DON"T SLAM YOUR DOORS!!! Tell you girl friends to take it easy on the doors. A word of advice, don't pick a fight in the car, or else your better half is going to slam her door. Trust me the sales person made it a point not to slam my doors. - There is a reason for that!!!
