My TSX is 100% rattle-free

Not to give those of you who are having trouble a hard time, but my TSX is now 100% rattle free. I had an annoying problem with the gasket on the slide for the sunroof rubbing and a minor buzz in the door when playing bass heavy music. But, both problem were easily addressed. My car is now completely rattle free, even when I crash over one of the many potholes here in Los Angeles.

In fact, the TSX is the most rattle-free new car I've ever owned. Both of my past Honda Accords had rattle issues in the first few months (as did my Dad's BMW, and my sisters's Audi, btw).

I'm not saying other owners aren't having a problem, but I suspect the rattle issue is not nearly as bad as it seems.

Flame away if you must!

Do you know what they did to address the problems?

I had that buzz in the passenger door and the dealer took the door apart and tightened a panel near the window. That solved the entire problem. As for the rubbing of the shade for the sunroof, that was solved by a poster here:

Can you describe the buzz in the door that you had? Was it drivers side or pass side? and was it coming form the door locks?

The only rattle i have is the f'n whistling noise coming from the passenger side window. I'll take care of that during my first oil change though. No biggie.

Sorry about that link guys, but IDX has posted it correctly.

As for me, when I turned the steoro up with bass heavy music, the whole door would seem to vibrate. Otherwise, it didn't rattle at all. The problem was only on the pass side, and I heard nothing from the locks.

The dealer took the door apart and said that some panel had not been adjusted tighly enough so that it was vibrating against the window.

I know that isn't very specific, and I apologize. But, the main point was that it was able to be fixed fairly easily. Now, I don't have any issues with regard to rattles in the door.

Darth:

You had rattles in your '89 Accord? I had an 88 that I drove up until January of this year and it never once had a rattle (nor any other issue ever). By the way, mine was a sedan and was built in Ohio (as was your coupe, all Accord coupes were/are)

My '89 Accord (304,000km) sedan has a few rattles. They didn't appear until sometime around 200,000km. Also, it's been in at least 6 or 7 accidents (minor fender bender types, none our fault). One in particular that left the hinges and seals kinda damaged on the front passenger door, so the door clunks when you go over bumps and it's noisy in crosswinds. There is one rattle that comes and goes in the driver side dash area (comes in the cold, goes when it's warm). Plus a monster buzz in one of the back speakers. My Accord was built in Japan.

At 3800km, my TSX is 100% rattle-free. So far, so good...

My '89 was actually built in Japan. It did have few rattles at first. But, I had them fixed and no problems after that. My '96 was built in Ohio, and that car did have rattles, although it never bothered me.

darth...this is great news. I hope you dont mind but i created a new thread to address the pass door rattling specifically. You are the first person to report this type of success and I think this deserves specific attention.

Here's the link....

The only rattle I have is the FOB that's attached to the key ring. It schwings back and forth and rattles against the steering column.
