If your due for any service, might as well get er done now.

If not, check the fluids, tire pressure and maybe buy a can of fix-a-flat just in case. I think Acura TLC will tow you if anything goes wrong, so no need for AAA...Good luck...

Joe gave good advice. Make sure you have good amount of air in the spare as well as the regular tires, some jumper cables wouldn't hurt either. I wouldn't worry about engine problems as long as your services are up to date. It is a Honda after all.

Make sure to bring a road atlas just in case. You can't always rely on the navi when driving backroads and through small towns.

If you get caught in bad highway traffic just get off at the nearest exit and let the navi do the rest. There are almost always parallel roads near most major highways.

Everyone covered everything very well. I suggest a warm coat, hat and gloves because when you get out of your awesome Acura in MN, you're gonna freeze!

The fix-a-flat isn't a great idea unless its a last resort. You still have a spare, so try that.

I just drove 1010 miles over the weekend going from Atlanta to Lexinton VA and back. So here's my thoughts:

1) if you have fog lights make sure they are aimed properly so when you encounter really dense fog at night the fog lights are actually functional. Mine were aimed way too high so I got this crazy glare.

2) don't go more than 10 over the limit becuase I got a ticket just recently and it sucks. By driving 80mph instead of 70mph you save only 54 minutes over 500 miles (approx. 8 hours of driving).

3) Stay way way away from trucks. Not even to the side because I had a rock hit me from a truck in the lane next to me. It put a huge crack in my windshield. Now I have to get a new windshield.

4) I have a cheap handheld gps system and it's great for positioning yourself if you are really lost. The other weird thing is that the gps consistently registered my speed as being about 3 mph slower than what my speedo read. I'm running 33psi front and 31psi rear.

5) I found out that if you go to Cracker Barrel resturants you can rent audiobooks for $5. Then you just go to any other Cracker Barrel to return it. So rent in Texas and return wherever you go. Audiobooks really make the time fly and you can focus on the book instead of the road if traffic is light.

6) Don't take too many breaks cause that kills your total time. Break every 4 hours and you save a bunch of time. Just bring water and food with you in the car.

Guess that's everything I can think of.

Yea, thats true, use the spare first. If the tire has some tread on it, I dont think a tire can be patched with fix-a-flat.

A few items I try and take

A flashlight
hat
Pepto Bismal
Water
Energy Bars
xtra quart of oil
Ear plugs, these always come in handy for some reason

If you have to stop to use the restroom, use ones at restaurants, not gas stations. Usually much cleaner. Better TP too.
