My First Impressions

Hi all. I just posted pix a couple of days ago of my new '05 TSX. After a few days of driving, I just wanted to give you guys some of my initial thoughts of the car.

The one thing I've noticed on this board over the past few months are the disparate views on the overall drive of this car. To put my impressions in perspective, my last car was a Honda Civic (a very good and reliable car, but not exactly sensational). Coming from the Civic, the ride of the TSX is extraordinary. The ride is smooth...the feel of the car is very tight. I haven't exactly opened it up yet as I am waiting to break it in a while. The six speed is so much fun and the short-throws are great. I did get the NAVI option and I am very glad i did. Even when not using it to find specific destinations, it is great to have a real-time understanding of upcoming roads and other aspects of the area around you. Furthermore, all the other integrated features are fantastic. Acura really did a good job here.

Many people have been asking for pics of the lit up steering wheel buttons (at night of course). I have tried but they just don't show up as the lighting is very dim. Also, many have asked about the location and funtion of the heated mirrors. There is a button right next to the mirror adjustor for on an off...nothing too fancy, but I'm sure it will come in handy. The coolest feature is the integrated XM.

I drove some co-workers to lunch today and they were all extremely impressed with the car...this coming from Mercedes and BMW owners.

I am glad I got this car as it seems like the best package out there. I really appreciate all the inputs and feedback on this board as it really helped me in the buying process. Take it easy all. PS, if you're still thinking about getting the TSX, pull the trigger...it's worth it baby!!

Thank you for the update. I was told today that I would have my car by December 15th.
I can't wait to get it. I, too, have gotten so much from this forum. I want to thank the members for all of the pics and info. It has just made me want my car that much more. I will post pics when I get it.

In order to take pictures at night, you have to use a camera with a "manual" mode. What you need to do is put the camera in "program" mode and then use that to meter the light. One it gives you a reading, remember it, go back to manual mode, set it up for that setting, and take the shot. YOu may need a tripod though because the shutter speed will be REALLY slow. If you dont use a tripod, the pic will be blurry.

I am considering a TSX and also currently have a Civic (EX-2001). When you get a few more miles with the car, I would love to hear more of your impressions on how it compares - especially in terms of quietness, smoothness, and the overall driving experience. So start taking notes.

Thanks for your post.

With 133,000km on it, it still drives almost like a brand new car...

Oh don't worry, I let go of my previous Accord at 615,000km.

CG, could be, but since we here represent only a minority of TSX owners, it will be hard to know...
