My 2004 Acura TSX: Need opinions on fixing speaker/audio system
Hi all, new to the site. A general car noob, just looking for some friendly advice.
I'm going to a local place tomorrow (Orange County, CA) to get an estimate on what I'd like to do.
Problem #1:
Front right speaker: it's 'blown' to some extent. I generally listen to music pretty loud and I guess over the years I just went too hard on it. If I listen to bass-heavy songs, it rattles the front right area pretty badly.
Problem #2
Simply put, I'm sick of listening to the same CDs/radio over again. I'd like to get a setup so I can just connect my iphone4 and listen to Spotify/Pandora. 'Auxillary In' is the term I think.
Problem #3
To solve problem #2, I guess I could buy an adapter (plug in to cigarette lighter-this thing is also broken because I got a damn penny stuck in it years ago) that has Aux In ? Is this a viable solution?
Summary: I'm sure when I go in to this audio place tomorrow, the estimate on fixing the 3 above issues would be no less than a few hundred dollars (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't mind spending money, but it seems these things could be taken care of without the expensive labor/an audio shop.
-Buy new speaker-take off inside of front right car door-replace speaker: viable option?
-I'm not sure what to do or what's best for the Aux In
Any input on these matters is appreciated
