Hello All,

When the moonroof is open, does anyone notice a weird wind turbulence effect around 40 mph?

i have noticed the same effect unless i have the windows open a little. if i plan on driving on the highway i won't open just the moonroof - it's too much turbulence.

yeah, same here, it's like having only the front or rear windows open only. however, it's not so bad since i have it open for city/street driving only. i was planning on getting an oem visor for it, but it looks pretty nasty. i suggest getting another mfg's low-profile one to help with the noise and vibration.

This is normal -- there is even a fancy name for it but I can't seem to find it (like Huffman Effect or something). All cars will do this under the right conditions. It should happen primarily if you have windows down at the same time.

My VW even has a "comfort" position for the sunroof in which it opens "almost" all the way rather than all the way just to avoid this problem.
