What are you guys using to make the bmp files?
This is what I did:
I used photoshop to open up one of the bmp files in this thread.
I cropped and resized a jpg file to 480x234
I did a "select all" and copy the jpg
did a paste to the bmp file.
This is where the problem starts, seems like after I do a paste to the bmp, I'd lose all the color info from the jpg, and it just shows up in black and white...
any pointers?
Thanks.

When you select all, go to new to open the blank sheet. Before clicking ok, select RGB near teh bottom. You are probably opening the new image in grey scale. Then paste. Should solve the problem

bysin, is there any way that you can modify other stuff such as the way the Auido and/or climate controls look? Is there a way to make new skins for the that current software so that we can change the look of it? Can you add mpeg and mp3 functionality to it?
Also, can you post some links to documention on the SH-4 assembly language that you have found most helpful. Are there any detailed specification on what type of hardware is in the Acura TSX audio/climate/navi unit.

well, it should still look okay. its hard to notice, its just off a little itty bit.
here is the file, ratio compensated

here is the file, uncompensated (you probably want to start from this)

hopefully i'm doing this right, following the ratio directions from earlier in this thread.

i got it to work. i cant tell if it takes longer for the splash screen to show up after starting the car then it used too... seems its blank for 5 or 10 seconds rather then instantly showing up; or i could just be imagining things.
btw, if anyone messes up you dont have to disconnect the battery i dont think. just put the navi disc in, do the menu, cancel and map, hit version and hit load disc. it should just reload the original software from the dvd disc.
