Just like Nissan cleaned up last year.. These Canadian auto journalists are the biggest band wagon jumpers I have ever seen. The 3 should have only won in the economy class.

Don't give it more importance than it really worths. They are the same idiots who gave the best Coupe under 35K$ to Mazda3. Stupid.

Werd. And some even become shameless about it!

Well, at least I would consider Mazda3 over Civic or Corolla in no time.

Give M credit - their new cars have style and class. Look at the Civic vs. the 3 and you can see why the reviewers love it. Perhaps it will make Honda get off its styling ass.

The MZ3 won the sporty sedan category over the TSX (a finalist) based on price. The AJAC system weights the scores based on list price. It tends to favour cheaper cars in the category. If that's the case, why bother segmenting the awards with under and over $35k? The TSX was burned because its price is $34.8k (Cdn) and therefore incurred the most price penalty.

I think the 3 is a good car, but doesn't beat the TSX under the strict terminology of the award: "Best Sports Coupe/Sedan under $35k".

I wonder if the TSX would have done better if its price was $35.1k and therefore gained the most price weighing the over $35k category.

whatever they said, TSX is doing fine, without much advertising, Acura has no problem selling TSX !!!!

but i would choose 3 over Civic... and i felt guilty

I suppose Mazda had the better strippers this year when they took all those journalists out partying.

Give credit where credit is due. Mazda is coming out with some great autos. I'm a fan of Acura, but can appreciate other makes as well. Happy Holidays!
