Manual Shift Knob on 04 TSX

Just purchased a 04 TSX 6MT black ext., parchment interior car. Noticed the manual shift knob is somewhat worn/faded.
Any ideas why and how much a OEM replacement is in CDN dollars (Toronto area).

Did you get this from a private sale, used car dealer, or Acura dealer?

It is important b/c you might be able to get it covered under warranty as some of the initial ones had an issue.

I'm looking up the part for you now.

UPDATE: Part# 54102-SEC-A01, cost is $135 CDN

Bought the car from a Acura dealership with extended bumper to bumper warranty of 6 years or 120,000 km. Car currently has 30,000km.

The knob seems faded on the face of it, really weird.

No pics yet but will be seeing the car Thursday night for mechanical inspection and will take one then. I take ownership of it Saturday morning.

Think I should pursue in having the dealer replace it (they are a certified Acura pre-owned dealer) and have provided a 6 yr/120km warranty from in service date to cover bumper to bumper (exluding brakes).

A bit off topic - where do you guys get the Acura part numbers so fast?

I think I might have the same problem w/ my early '04 TSX. The metallic part on top seems to be two-toned, almost like the clearcoat faded or changed color in one area but not another... Although the entire thing is still butter smooth...

My bumper to bumper warranty is over (76,000km on my car), and it doesn't bother me that much as my hand is almost always covering it anyhow.
