maintenance at 150k(KM)

hello guys, i recently picked up at 04 tsx and it currently has 154k on it, Kilometres and not miles as im in Canada. The previous owner didn't really have any maintenance history as he told me he only owned the car for about an year. But it didn't bother me much because i got it for a good price. I know that this car doesn't have a timing belt, but does it have a water pump or anything similar to this that must be changed around the 150k mark?

There is a variety of maintenance items that should have been performed over the life of the car so far, though nothing major. All are in the owner's manual by the way (and a cover to cover study of that document should be one of the first things done when buying any new (or new to you) car). Since you're approaching 100K miles, there are a couple of things that will soon require attention (according to Honda)(following intervals are in miles). Spark plugs and valve adjustment are due in the 110K mark. Transmission fluid (AT or MT) at 120K or 6 years. Coolant at 120K or 10 years. Brake fluid every 3 years, independent of mileage. I would advise all of these items be performed now due to the age of the car and your having no service history for it. There is no service interval for the timing chain, tensioner, and water pump, though some here have either had to do it, or done those jobs as a precaution. My experience was that I didn't touch the front end of the engine in my 05 (w/ 178K miles) except for replacing the serpentine belt, and that was actually just a feel good job due to it's age; the old one was fine.
