"Maintainance Required" light at 59k miles?
I have a 2004 TSX with 59,000 miles on it (mostly highway). The Maintainance Required light just came on and I am in the process of selling the thing.
What would cause the light to come on? I don't even have 60k miles on the damn thing!
Would those free diagnostic machines they use at AutoZone be able to pull error codes from the Acura's computer?

A search will tell you everything you want to know. Cliff's notes is the light comes on every 7500 miles or so, and can be cleared with the procedure described in the owner's manual.

Umm....this should not be the first time the light has come on since you owned it.... Like what was said above, it comes on at a fixed interval (usually about 1000 miles before your next scheduled service, which are every 10k).

This is actually my brother's car. He left it with me in Ohio because he's in New York City and can't park it anywhere and wants to get rid of it (in case you were wondering).
I'll see about resetting the light in the owner's manual, then.

Exactly, get the maintenance done.
I sold a truck where the check engine light had been on for 30,0000 miles before I sold it! I didn't want to take it in cuz it was one of those things where the light came on just after I got it serviced. I'm sure all of you have had that happen once before. I'm very paranoid about stealerships.
Anyways, I ran the battery down then charged it back up to get the light off to sell it and it worked. Drove the truck around for about 100 more miles and the light came back on. Did the same thing with the battery and it was off again. Sold the truck. Then four months later, buyer calls back says the truck needs a new catalytic converter ($750) and because I didn't smog it before I sold it, that I needed to pay for it to be repaired. Luckily the buyer split it with me.
I might have got out of this better than paying in full, but it was a huge hassle and I was threatened to go to court with this whole thing. Not cool. I'll never do that again. Plus, I'll never buy a GMC again! POS truck!

The light is just the maintenance reminder. I also have an 04 and it comes on every 10k miles. At first it blinks when you start the car and when it gets really close to the next 10k miles, in your case 60K it will go solid. I do my own maintenance, so if the maintenance is up to date just reset the light. Instructions are in the operators manual.
