Arrow loose brake pads?

About 5k miles ago in my 2006 tsx, I had the rotars resurfaced and hawk ceramic pads installed due to shuddering at high speeds. I got the hawk pads because I wanted to avoid the brake pad material build up on the rotars that caused the shuddering in the first place. Today I took my car in for a B1 service and to check out a clunking noise I was hearing going over bumps. Turns out the clunking noise was a loose hawk brake pad (either one or both). The service manager said that this was because aftermarket pads may not fit as well as OEM Acura pads. As a result, they have more room to move around and make noise hitting against things. He said that there is no fix for the problem, and the only thing to do would be to replace the front hawk pads with OEM acura pads. I had them replace the pads with the OEM pads and the clunking noise dissapeared.

Has anyone else had problems with loose aftermarket brake pads? Was the service manager telling the truth?

Thanks!
