Loaner Car Rules

If I take my car in for service at a different dealership than the one I purchased my car at will they give me a loaner?

Depends on the service. I would think you would have to call ahead and arrange for a loaner, and i think that there would have to be some pretty serious time allotted to the repair for them to just toss you a car... Personally, i think heading back to your original dealer would probably give you the best bet- they are more likely to comply with your specific needs.

Hope your TSX is okay.

Some dealers are better than others. The Lexus dealer we bought our car from (in the Chicago surburbs) - Bredemann (sp?) Lexus, ALWAYS gave loaners, even if you were just coming in for an oil-change.

So does my Acura dealer, and I didn't even buy my car from there. That's why I bought my TSX from them this time.

Probably a RSX or TSX is my guess for an Acura loaner.

The Lexus I went to in the past would give out ES300's and then added RX300's as well when they came out.

I would imagine a lot of Acura dealers might begin using 2003 TLs

When I lived in Virginia, I got an RL once, that was sweet. Before, when I owned Honda's i'd be lucky to get anything.

My Acura dealership was good. If I give them advanced notice that I'll need a loaner, they'll get me one.

I've only needed one once when I took my EL for an oil change...that day I couldn't afford any time without a car, so they arranged a loaner. Unfortunately, their loaners didn't come back in time, so they rented me an armPiT Cruiser for the day. I was kinda hoping for a TL or something (since you know it's gotta be an Acura vehicle). After a day with the Cruiser with the busted AC on a 35 degrees C day, I obtained a whole new perspective for the concept "THE SUCK". What a piece of junk.

But, it was still nice that they rented me *a* car.

Ah, another prime example of American ethnocentrism at its finest. You guys do realize you are the ONLY COUNTRY in the WORLD to use the illogical farenheight system....

35 celcius is equal to 95 farenheight.

The Acura dealer who sold me my TSX (Stevens Creek Acura) uses the next-door Enterprise rental car agency to provide loaners. The Acura dealer only covers up to $29/day, which, today, got me a totally awesome, trade-in-the-TSX Suzuki Aerio! :yuk:

I certainly hope getting a loaner isn't a regular occurrence!

I usually get a TL as a loaner (I have a CL). Before the RSX came out, I'd sometimes get an Integra.

I always make them give me a loaner, even for Oil Changes !! lol I find a rattle or something for them to warrant keeping the car overnight !

Just wondering, for those who wished for a loaner car with manual tranny, do you think everyone on earth (of course, this only means those who have valid driver licenses) would know how to drive a manual? :shakehd:

No and most people dont drive mannuals anymore, hence why there are no manual loaners and i have to find any manuals for rental anymore either.

I've always been offered an Acura at Stevens Creek Acura, but if they're out they will take you next door to Enterprise. They have a good selection at Stevens Creek, but last time they realized that I don't turn 25 for 2 mo. and said they couldn't loan me an Acura (insane - I have insurance, what does it matter? I can buy a TSX, but can't drive an RSX?)
