Not to be rude, but they stole a truck when a Supra was parked next to it? Sounds like a bad priority in popular rides.
If it is an Explorer, it has aftermarket wheels and tires. The wheels are too deep to be stock rollers on a Ford.

There's been a steady increase of crime in my neighborhood, so I want to catch those sob on camera!
Btw, my neighbor just told me the thief has been caught along with two other guys earlier. They have stolen a total of 5 cars this morning and the thief was caught after a police chase! My neighbor got his truck back with only a scratch on the bumper.

Glad they caught the SOBs!!! I say hang them.
It's scary to see how ball-sy these guys are to pull up next to a car they want to steal first....then take it. I would have guessed they would have come with as little as possible to not be identified.

Seriously, I think these guys should rot in hell.
BTW, how much did it cost to have that secuity camera installed? I might be interested in something like that.

I've also learned my other neighbor next to the one that got the truck stolen was also targetted. There was a broken flashlight in the driveway. The Ford Explorer also pulled up to their driveway the same morning!
humperdood, I'm not sure how much is the whole system, as it was a gift. It's a computer based industrial type digital recording system that will do 24x7 recording and connected up to 16 cameras. The images are saved as jpeg files.

I'm glad they caught those guys. They had some balls thats for sure.
Your set-up sounds pretty cool. I'd like to get a monitoring system like that.

That's pretty badass though with the cameras. They would never expect that. As mentioned before, hopefully you could submit that to ensure a stronger case on those guys. Luckily your car wasn't stolen.

You guys are not going to believe this! Someone rang my door bell just now but didn't stay long enough for me to answer the door. So I played back the video and saw this suv driving around the area, later parked with the lights on, got out of the car and checking out cars in my cul-de-sac. Then he rang my door bell. I searched on the video and found what looks like the exact suv that was involved in the car theft just a few days ago. I was told the person who stole the car was caught but not sure if the other guy driving the Explorer was caught as well. Is this a coincidence? I'll be staying up tonight ready for some action!

This is whack. You should call the police. Is that the guy on camera? Was he ringing your doorbell to see if you were home...Maybe he saw your cameras and bailed...either way ...really creepy JTso
Why would they be coming back to the same block? Could they know the neighbors ?

I've got one of these in my car, and one in my toolbox. Silver 2 x D-size.
Watch the camera. Hang out on the side of your house (with a pen and pad...we'll get to that in a sec), if he gets out, clock him over the head. If he stays in the car, use it to get a good look at the plates and write the # down. Maglites are great. They're useful for working on the car, looking around your back yard for critters, and even for whacking a punk mutha fucka over the head when they're casing your block.
