Hi once again! As you know, I am going to be purchasing an 05 TSX and will be going back to the dealer to put a 500$ deposit to secure the 3.9% Finance interest rate since it ends august 2nd.

What i wanted to know is how much can i (as a canadian/Montrealer who has to pay 15% tax) expect to pay for my car either before or after taxes or whatever. I have checked the user database and searched for canada, I do not know how some of you got it for <34k before taxes, i know invoice is around 32k but still..any tips? Do i just go in and say " Ok invoice is this, give it to me for this"?

I will be getting a PWP 5AT with body kit minus the spoiler(want to get M3 style Lip Spoiler). How much should I be willing to pay for that set up? Invoice for 5AT is around 34,400$ so i guess i just add the body kit stuff..but still not sure.

Also, should i wait till August 2nd and see what promotion they are gonna roll out?

Any input would be great.

you'll probably save $1500 - $2000 (US) if you buy an 05 (now) vs an 06 (when they first come out).......I bought an 05 two weeks ago, I pick it up this week.. kinda bummed now that I saw the '06 specs....

(Kind of a long post)

So, I went to another dealer today and wanted to see what price they would give me. The MSRP of the 2k5 5AT is 37400$ His "best" price was around 36900, i said no no, the invoice is this much. He then asked me what i wanted to pay, I trying to be greedy and catuious at the same time said i wanted 500 above invoice. He would not give this to me stating that not even he gets it for that much, so i jumped the gun and asked for 750 above invoice, he went to talk through it with his manager and came back with an ok. The whole PAD thing confuses me but i hope i didnt get jipped. His price including his pad was 35724$, i then just put a 500$ deposit to secure my 3.9% and went back to work( It was really a spur of the moment thing going to the dealership during my lunch break)

I did tell him, i am shopping around and will check with the other dealer to see if he would beat/match it. He said fine, but no one will beat it by that much, and if they do come back. So i went to my original dealer and showed them the price, he was like "damn" thats a pretty good price, but somehow he was able to get it down a bit more (although with no more room to play). His price was 35490$ 234$ cheaper. Now this is where you might scald me on this, but i planned on getting the car from this dealer, since it closer to home, also (may sound gay) the rep was a cool guy, and honest.

So at this point, i have 2 500$ deposits in 2 different dealerships (again, the deposit was only to secure the interest rate) since i plan on buying from this dealer ship, i will be going back to the other one and getting my deposit back. Now i know i could most likely get it a little bit cheaper since he said he would match/beat it, but due to lazyness/sister naggin me to buy it from here i decided that i will stop here.

Now, to all of you, is that an ok price? At the end, i added that i am a recent grad, and am getting 750$ off plus since it is a job in a related feild of study, i am getting a whopping 0.25% off my interest rate WOO!! Good?
